Obituary for Anton L. Bild
Anton Lawrence Bild, age 96, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Samaritan Health Center. He was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Bild on April 1, 1923 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Anton served in the United States Army’s 14th Armored Division, was a Judge Advocate, and participated in World War II war crimes investigations. Anton later became a master stonemason. He took great pride in his work and loved those he worked with. Anton married Erna (nee Schleis) on August 23, 1947 at Santa Dominican Chapel in Whitefish Bay,Wisconsin.
Anton loved nature, art, books, music, history and always enjoyed a good fruit pie! He was of the Baháˈi faith.
Anton is survived by Erna Bild; children, Ralph, Steven and Anton Jr.; grandchildren, Nick, Nina, Tresa and Leah Bild. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Anton is preceded in death by Joseph, Elizabeth and William Bild.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend). The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 18th from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. Interment will follow the service at Washington County Memorial Park. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Cancer Research Institute (www.cancerresearch.org).
