Obituary for Bernice Janice Baranyk (McKay)
Bernice Janice Baranyk (nee McKay), age 85, returned to her heavenly home peacefully on January 30, 2024, at her home in Slinger. She was born on April 1, 1938, in Milwaukee WI, to Oliver and Bernice (nee Zahn) McKay.
Bernice enjoyed trying new things and volunteered whenever she could. Bernice was a Master Doll Artisan who used to create each doll from scratch. She would paint their faces and make their clothes by herself. Bernice even showcased her dolls in competitions held in cities like New York and Chicago and had to obtain a certain number of ribbons to earn her title. Her dolls were so exquisite that they frequently featured in full layouts in Doll Magazines.
"She was an amazing friend, mother, wife, and person. Her presence will be deeply missed by all those who knew her."
Bernice is survived by her 4 children, Christopher Baranyk, Carol Baranyk (Christopher Wenzel), Carmelle Baranyk, & Charlotte Burke; grandchildren, Kyle (Rebecca) Baranyk, Kathryn Baranyk, Kurtis Baranyk, Michael DesRosier, Samantha (Andrew) Richter, April (Jacob) Osborne, Derek Neuy, Haylee Baranyk, Mason Spaeth Baranyk; great grandchildren, Robbie Baranyk, Caleb Baranyk, Ava Osborne, Liam Osborne, Caiden Neuy, Harper Jo Neuy; siblings Mary Jeranek. Other relatives and friends survive her.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband Daniel Baranyk, her parents Oliver and Bernice McKay (nee Zahn), her brothers Harold McKay, Leonard McKay, John McKay, her brother-in-law Richard Jeranek, and son-in-law Glenn Burke.
Services will be held at St Paul Lutheran Church 799 St Paul Dr. Slinger WI 53086 on Saturday February 17, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM-12:00PM. A Memorial Service and Interment will start at Noon with Pastor Ben Golisch presiding.
