Obituary for Carol Jane Kochar (Jensen)

Born and raised in Menomonee Falls, Carol Kochar passed away peacefully in her Slinger, WI home accompanied by her loving husband of 41 years, James Kochar, after a long illness.

One of three children of Arnold and Geraldine Jensen, Carol was a graduate of Menomonee Falls High School and a graduate of the Milwaukee County Hospital School of Nursing. After starting in industrial nursing, she shifted to work the Obstetrics Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital and concluded her nursing career working with veterans at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee for nearly 20 years.

In addition to her husband, James, Carol is survived by her son, Dirk Wildt and daughter-in-law Stevie Mistele-Wildt, brother Niel Jensen (Mary), sister Karen Shuppie (Jack), three stepdaughters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carol and Jim moved from Greendale, WI to Lone Rock, WI in 1987 and loved their new home and its gardens in beautiful lower Wisconsin River Valley. After her retirement in 1989, Carol became an avid quilter. She created nearly 170 wonderfully detailed artworks, from small pieces to dozens of full bed quilts and large wall hangings. Carol reflected, “I needed something to satisfy my compulsive desire for creativity....my quilts will be my legacy. “Her works now adorn the homes of family, friends, and collectors.

A socially distanced funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 30 from 4:00pm until 5:45pm at the Phillip Funeral Home(Chapel 1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend).

Masks will be required.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held in spring, 2021.
