Obituary for Carol S. Noll-Dunning (Noll)

Carol Noll-Dunning

Date of Death: May 10, 2022

Carol loved to dance. In her youth, she left Milwaukee for New York City for a couple of years to take professional dance lessons, after which she returned to Wisconsin and taught dance at the Adele Artinian School of Dance.Concurrently, Carol worked for many years at Northwestern Mutual’s downtown home office, where she met and married the love-of-her-life, the late Herbert (“Herb”) Dunning. Following her retirement from NML, Carol opened her own dance studio (The Carol Noll School of Dance) and during her ensuing years she somehow managed to continue to teach, while providing needed, loving care to Herb, during his life-ending struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Later, Carol’s own health challenges relegated her to a more sedentary life, and her teaching days came to an end; but her many friends, including many of her former dance students, continued to provide her with great joy and comfort, as well as her own needed physical care, during her final years. While those of us who remain are respecting her choice not to have any type of post-death funeral service, if you would care to do something in honor of Carol’s life, we would encourage you to write a check, in Carol’s memory, made payable to “Dance Masters of Wisconsin, Inc.” (a non-profit organization that promotes dance, as an art form, through instructional training, education and scholarships), and mail same to the administrator of Carol's estate: Attorney Thomas H. Mihal, N14W23777 Stone Ridge Drive #250, Waukesha, WI 53188, for Tom's subsequent advancement to said organization, on your behalf.
