Obituary for Caroline Rose Wagner (Pivonka)

Caroline Wagner (nee Pivonka), age 89 of Hartford, WI passed away peacefully Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Compassionate Heights in West Bend, WI. She was born April 13, 1931 in Pound, WI to Wencil and Agnes (nee Kust) Pivonka.

Carole married Donald Wagner on October 11, 1952 in Klondike, WI. After their marriage Carole worked on the family farm with her husband in Slinger, WI. Later in her life Carole worked as a cook in several local family restaurants where she got her nickname "Grandma Carole". Carole also volunteered at Hartford Hospital in the gift shop. Carole enjoyed listening to polkas, visiting with her family & friends, spending time with her fur baby Jenka and telling stories of the shenanigans she and her siblings did while growing up.

Carole is survived by her daughters, Barbara Wagner of Manassas, VA and Judith (fiancé Kevin Klink) Wagner of Hartford, WI, sister Frances Van Dreel, brother-in-law George (Agnes) Wagner, her special fur baby Jenka, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Wagner, siblings Mary Pivonka, Joseph Pivonka, Annie (Leo) Valenta, Helen (Robert) Magee, Emily Pivonka, Julia Zellmer, Anthony (Ila Mae) Pivonka, Loddie (Lorraine) Pivonka, Josephine (Gerald) Feltus, Elizabeth (Richard) Landvatter, and brother-in-law Robert Van Dreel.

A special thank you to the caring and loving staff of Compassionate Heights in West Bend and to the staff of Preceptor Home Health Hospice for their loving care in her final days.

No services will be held in respect of Carole’s wishes.
