Daniel “Dan” J. Kania, age 72, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in his home. He was born on October 4, 1946 in Marinette, WI to Frank and Florence (Nee Utter) Kania. He graduated from Nathan Hale in West Allis in 1965. Met Janine in Hawaii while serving in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam war; upon returning home courted and married his wife, Janine (Nee Dewey) Kania on April 26, 1969. Dan was a family man who was dedicated to his Wife, Children, and Grandchildren. He was rooted in the Catholic Faith and enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janine; son, Russell (Annette Kania) and daughter, Tiffany (Robert) Meyer; grandchildren, Daniel (Courtney) Meyer, Matthew (Tiffany Seering) Kania, Alexander Meyer, Rachel Kania and soon-to-be great-grandfather May, 2019; sisters Shirley Oppenheimer and Jeanne Jacobson. He is further survived by cousins, other relatives and friends.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Doris Mae Kania and his parents-in-law Russell (Sybil) Dewey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00PM on Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 E Washington St. Slinger, WI 53086) with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at St. Peter Catholic Church on Friday, November 9th from 1:00PM until 1:45PM. Interment will follow at Old St’ Peter Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors. Rosary & Divine Mercy will be prayed at 12:15 PM in the church preceding visitation.
