Obituary

Donna Jean Saltz (nee Beranek), of Allenton, passed away at age 71 on Thursday, October 22, at Froedterdt Hospital in Milwaukee. She was born October, 18, 1949, in Milwaukee, and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1967. She earned degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh and Cardinal Stritch University. She used her degree in microbiology in several laboratory positions at local hospitals and clinics, and retired from Northwestern Mutual as an underwriter.

Those who Donna left behind include her husband Jim, their beloved dog Paisley, and many animals on their farm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Katherine Beranek. Donna is also survived by her large circle of friends, many of them long-time companions whose lives she greatly enriched for many years.

Donna will be remembered for her exceptional sense of humor, her love of music and performance art, and her accomplished goal of traveling around the world. For many years, she was a volunteer usher at the Pabst and Riverside Theaters. Her most recent skill of mah jong kept her in the winning circle many times.

Due to COVID, no formal service will be held. Memorials may be given in Donna's name to the Guide Dogs for the Blind, a charitable non-profit organization. Information can be found at this website: guidedogs.com

Dear Jim this is Leann, Donna's hair dresser of 25 plus years. I'm so sorry for your loss. Donna was a wonderful person. I loved talking with her, hearing about all her trips, and our talks about our dogs. I'm truly going to miss our visits.
