Obituary

Wonderful wife, mother, aunt and great Aunt Esther Radocha passed away on January 29, 2021 at the age of 105. She lived an amazing, long life with travels around the world to all 7 continents, telling great stories of her adventures and having a loving family who adored her. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Esther was the oldest of her sisters Helen and Josephine and half-sisters Delores, Mary Lou, and Elizabeth (Betty). Esther married Thomas Radocha and had 3 children Robert, Judith and Joyce, all who have predeceased her. Esther is survived by over 50 cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a large network of friends who will greatly miss her.

Esther enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, always having a large vegetable garden, and her homemade baked goods, especially banana breads, were frequently shipped to loved ones across the US. She was generous and loving, giving to many charitable organizations and always having a positive, kind word for everyone she met.

Esther was so appreciative of those who cared for her, allowing her to remain in the comfort of a loving home, especially Susan Della, Lynn Lasnicka and AseraCare Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1:00pm CT at St. Peter Catholic Church in Slinger, WI.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, consider donations to your preferred charity in her name. Some of her favorite charitable organizations were the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and St. Peter Catholic Church.

Susan, thank you so much for your loving care of my aunt. Esther suffered the death of her children, husband, and five sisters during her life, yet remained positive toward life. She is a model for me of maintaining a forward-looking attitude and finding joy in a long life. I remember two special events I shared with her. The first was her 50th wedding anniversary, where I learned the chicken dance. The second is my wedding reception, which she hosted at her home in Slinger for the entire family. The attached photo from the reception shows her on the right with her sisters Jo (my mom) and Helen. She was always gracious, supportive and kind.

I have a wonderful and vivid memory from my childhood of a lovely summer day spent at Esther and Tom’s lake house. 50 years later I got to take my Great Aunt Josephine Bonczek to see Aunt Esther for the first time in 20+ years in 2019. It was a lovely reunion especially since my mom Mary RichIe was visiting from Florida that week.

I met Esther through Joyce, a good Alameda CA friend and Esther's daughter. Joyce was very athletic and joined our senior swim group and fitness exercise class. I visited Joyce and Esther frequently at their home and was amazed at the energy and determination of Esther at her advanced age. She recalled her childhood, youth, marriage, children, life on the lake in Wisconsin, among other periods, with such color and detail! Her banana bread was legendary! With every visit, I received another loaf, to my husband's great delight! Esther displayed a pioneer's spirit, caring for her younger siblings at a very tender age. Nothing daunted her. When she moved to Wisconsin, I was sad to see her leave, but happy knowing that she was in such a caring family. Thank you, Susan, for your kindness towards your aunt. She really was grateful for your enveloping love. Pat

VISIT TO SEE HER AND JOYCE IN CALIFORNIA . AND I REMEMBER SHE WAS SO EXCITED TO GO PLAY BINGO...AUNT ESTHER WOULD
PACK SANDWICHES AND DRINKS AND WE WOULD BE OFF TO TRY OUR LUCK...SHE WOULD SMILE AND LAUGH EVEN IF SOMEONE
ELSE CRIED "BINGO" AND IT WASN'T US...THATS JUST THE KIND OF PERSON SHE WAS....HAPPY FOR EVERYONES GOOD FORTUNE.
I WILL MISS HER VERY MUCH...SHE WAS A ONE OF A KIND
