Born to Eternal Life on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the age of 93, He was born in Holton Township, the son of the late James and Clara (nee Daines) Erickson. After high school and time spent working on the family farm Gene was drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1952-1953. Gene married the love of his life Joyce A. Riemer on September 20, 1958. Most of his life he worked as a Drywall Finisher, and was a member of Painters Union 781, he was able to enjoy over 30 years of retirement. Gene was a longtime member of Saint Boniface Parish in Germantown.  

Gene was an avid sports fan always cheering on his children, grandchildren, Brewers, Packers, and other State Teams. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and Joyce and him traveled to all the States and other places in Europe. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.


Gene is survived by his wife Joyce A. Erickson of 65 years; children Kent (Audrey) Erickson, Nancy (David)Bushee, Diane (Dennis) Zoske, Timothy (Kelly)Erickson, Julie (Mark) Ruszczynski; grandchildren Kolin Erickson, Matthew (Amy)Bushee, Travis (Shana) Bushee, Justine (Colin) Telin, Shane Zoske, Logan (fiancé Brooklyn) Zoske, Cole (fiancé Emily) Erickson, Jaime Erickson, Carly (fiancé Jake) Tuska, and Gavin Tuska; great-grandchildren Emma Bushee, Oliver Bushee, and Kinsley Telin. He is further survived by sister Mary Alice Gumz, many other loving relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Gene was preceded in death by his parents James Erickson and Clara Louise (Daines) Erickson. brother, Robert (Beverly) Erickson; brother-in-law Herbet Gumz. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 10:00AM until 11:45AM, with a Funeral Mass at 12:00PM, at St Boniface Parish (W204 N11940 Goldendale Rd., Germantown, WI. Burial will be private at a later date.

The family would like to acknowledge the health care workers, with a special thank you to the medical staff at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, and to the Horizon Hospice Care Team who lovingly cared for Gene, and his family during his stay there.
