Gerald F. “Jerry” McWilliams
Jerry McWilliams of West Bend, WI passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the age of 78. Jerry was born on Feb. 14, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Walter and Lillian McWilliams. Jerry graduated from Boys Tech High School in Milwaukee, WI and upon graduation worked as an apprentice in the plumbing and pipefitting trade. He quickly advanced to journeyman, and foreman, mentoring countless plumbers and pipe fitters over the course of 43 years. For 56 years, Jerry was a proud member of the Plumbers Local 75. Jerry retired from Illingworth Corp in 2005.
Jerry loved the outdoors and spent his leisure time hunting, golfing, fishing, visiting state parks, or sitting around a bonfire. Jerry was a hard worker and always put family first. Jerry had a big heart and was generous to those less fortunate than himself.
He married the love of his life Petra J. Tschirner on October 3, 1970, in Milwaukee, WI. Jerry is survived by his wife Petra McWilliams of 53 years; his daughter Shari McWilliams (Todd Miske); brothers Duane (the late Betty) McWilliams, and William (the late Donna) McWilliams. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lorraine (the late Alan) Elger, Doris (the late Walter) Schmidling, and Lucille (the late Bill) Johnson, and brother Jim (the late Diane) McWilliams.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10:00AM until 11:45AM, with the Funeral Service at 12:00PM, at the Phillip Funeral Home, 1420 W. Paradise Ave., West Bend, WI. The entombment will be at 1:15PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park- Green Parking Area, 13235 W. Capital Dr., Brookfield, WI. In lieu of flower memorials in Jerry’s name to the WI Humane Society or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital would be appreciated.
