Obituary for Gregory E. Billeb

Gregory Edward Billeb (1941-2024)

Gregory (Greg) Edward Billeb, 82, of Hubertus, Wisconsin, died peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 4 at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend, Wisconsin.

Greg was born in Milwaukee in 1941 to Howard and Lucille (nee Gilg) Billeb.  Greg was a member of the school band and played the trumpet and the accordion as a child.  He graduated from Custer High School in 1959. Greg then joined the U.S. Army where he trained as Printers Helper and worked in propaganda, driving a semi-tractor trailer, and was a Reservist until 1967.  After serving, Greg was employed at Wisconsin Cuneo Printing Press where he worked until his retirement in 2002, as Lead Pressman.  He was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union, Local No. C7.  Greg met his wife, Betty, while working at Cuneo when a co-worker, Leland Low, introduced him to his sister.  The rest was history.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lucille Billeb, grandson Mitchell Billeb, and sister-in-law Patricia Billeb.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty (nee Low) Billeb, daughter Margie (Mike) Burkwald, sons Mark (Laura) Billeb, and Vince (Cathy LeRose) Billeb, grandchildren Matthew (Angela) Burkwald, Michele Burkwald, Sarah (Dante Heard) Billeb, Eva Billeb, and great-grandsons Colton and Connor Burkwald.  He is also survived by his sister Gail (Gary) Grafwallner, brother Brian Billeb, nieces, nephews, and many other dear family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the teams at Grafton Aurora Hospital and The Kathy Hospice for their unwavering care and compassion.

A public service will not be held.  Donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.
