Obituary

Helen C. Yenter (nee Pflugradt) on October 22, 2019 lost her courageous battle for life, and was taken by our Lord to her eternal reward.

Helen was born on April 23, 1933 to Arden and Barbara (nee Sommers) Pflugradt in Stevens Point. She married the late Chester Yenter on May 19, 1956 and renewed their vows for their 15th wedding anniversary at Trinity Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Road.

Her greatest pride and joy for her whole life was her family, dedicating all of her time to raising, caring for, and loving all of them. Her second love was music. She purchased her accordion at 17 years old and played up to her passing. She loved performing and entertaining, making people have a good time. Whether it was for a few family members or a large crowd, she enjoyed every moment playing her accordion, piano, or drums. Helen had many other hobbies and pastimes including roller skating from a young age to past her 86th birthday, going on family vacations to the lake, driving her Z28 Camaro, and working in her garden and her yard.

Helen is survived by her children Jeffrey, Susan (Ken) Blaine and Nickolas (Renee). She is further survived by her loving grandchildren Eric (Jennifer) Retzlaff, Adam (Denise) Retzlaff, Andrew, Kayleigh (Tyler) Briney and family, Chris (Sami) Naumann and family, Bobbie-Jo (Zach) Ostrowski. She was GG to Luke, Joel, Brian and Libby Retzlaff and grandma Helen to Dylan Figueroa, Alexis Eubanks, KJ and Kileigh Blaine. Also survived by the loving Yenter family too numerous to name. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Chester in 1988, and other loving family members.

A Funeral Service for Helen will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church (777 S. Indiana Ave., West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor Robert Hein and Pastor John H. Paustian presiding. Visitation will be at church on Sunday, October 27 from 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm. Interment will be at 10:00 am on Monday, October 28 at Washington Co. Memorial Park. Memorials are appreciated to Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church Choirs for Helen's love of music.

A Special Thank You to Mike and Mary Dricken who made her feel at home for 27 years at Lake Lenwood. Her friends at Cedar Bay West: Juanita Ruh, Lois Waedekin and Ardys Schoebel. To Becky and Julie at Cedar Bay West for all the special care of our mom. The compasionate medical care from Dr. Lawrence Sullivan and Dr. Charles Kaufman, Stephanie at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, and Melissa from Horizon Hospice.
