James Robert Soehner of Hartford, Wisconsin, age 47, died on August 31, 2020. He was born to Michael and Mary (Ritter) Soehner. He was born on March 17, 1973 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was united in love with Joanne Marie Semerad on October 5, 2019. Raised in Stoughton, Wisconsin, he attended UW-Milwaukee and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a minor in history. He was employed as a civil engineer. He was a family man and was very proud of Joanne and his two daughters, Lela and Megan. Jim took great pride in his woodworking and enjoyed making clocks, signs, and beer bottle openers. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He always enjoyed family trips to the aquarium where he loved seeing all of the animals, but especially the stingrays and beluga whales. Jim loved learning all types of history and politics. Jim enjoyed traveling and road trips, especially up to Door County (where he loved to have a fish boil).

James is survived by Joanne and his daughters, Lela and Megan; his parents, Mike and Mary Soehner; his sister, Barbara Walker; brother, Michael (Jennifer); and his nephews, Ryan Walker, Thomas Soehner, and Nathan Soehner.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Charlotte and Robert Ritter, and fraternal grandparents Russel and Maxine Soehner; as well as his Aunt “Cookie” Frydenlund.

Memorials are appreciated to Lela and Megan Soehner and can be sent to PO Box 506 Hartford WI 53027.

A visitation will be held at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI 53095) on September 11, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Although I only knew Jim for a short time, I count myself extremely fortunate to have know him. He became a good friend a colleague whom I felt I could talk to about anything. Rest in peace dear friend.

I count myself fortunate to have worked with Jim for many years. He was one of the kindest, nicest and most generous people I will ever know. He spoke often of his girls and was always so proud of them. Jim - I will miss you.
