Obituary for Jerold R. Wagenknecht

Jerold “Jerry” Roland Wagenknecht
August 28, 1944 – July 2, 2022
Jerold “Jerry” Roland Wagenknecht passed away at Hospice Home of Hope on July 2, 2022, with family by his side. He was 77.
Jerry was born on August 28, 1944, in Milwaukee, to Roland and Marie Wagenknecht (Hornig). He graduated from Washington High School in Germantown in 1962 and began working at Stolper Industries in Menomonee Falls. He later worked at Semko and Maple Metal Products Inc, from which he retired on August 28, 2008.
Jerry married the love of his life, Jean (Kosterman), in 1970. Together they raised two children and adored and spoiled their four grandchildren.
The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Jerry. He loved the outdoors-whether cutting his lawn, spending time at his cabin up north, walking in the woods with his dogs or hunting and fishing. He looked forward to attending his grandchildren’s activities and rummaging as much as possible. With a twinkle in his eye, he enjoyed teasing those close to him. He loved his family dearly. He was a true family man.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Jean, his children Scott (Kimberly) Wagenknecht and Amy (Lon) Elske and his grandchildren Charlotte, Brett, Kate and Molly. He is also survived by his sisters Mary (Curt Witzlib) Flint and Cynthia (Earl) Howard as well as other relatives and friends.
Private services are being held.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
