Joanne R. Goschey (nee Wamsley), age 63, of West Bend died at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend on August 20, 2022 after a 1 year battle with Cholangiocarcinoma.
Joanne was born December 10, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ralph and Trudy (nee Droege) Wamsley Joanne also lived in Tyler, Texas, Georgia and Alabama before settling in West Bend with her family. She graduated from West Bend West High School in 1977. Joanne married her soulmate and the love of her life, Terry Goschey, on July 9, 1983. They had 2 children, Timm & Brittany. Terry preceded her in death on December 30, 2013.
Joanne was proud to be a stay-at-home mom until her children were in school. She was employed at Pick ‘n Save for 24 years, retiring in 2016. Joanne made many lasting friendships with her co-workers and enjoyed the frequent lunch outings with some of those friends until she finally became too ill to join them.
Joanne loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Afternoons spent in the pool or making crafts and having sleepovers at “Mamaw’s house” were some of her favorite things. Trips to Disney World alone or with the family were cherished times. The entire family was able to make one final trip to Disney in February of 2022 where lots of laughter was shared, and lots of memories were made. Anyone lucky enough to know Joanne, knew what a big heart she had and that she was always thinking of others, even up until the very end. She had such a love for those closest to her and she will truly be missed, especially by her kids and grandchildren.
