Obituary for Joyce Ann Schmoldt (Alexander)

Joyce Ann Schmoldt, (Nee Alexander) Beloved wife, mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, died surrounded by her family. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce, who departed from this world on March 19th, 2024. She was 81 years old.

Joyce was born on May 24th, 1942 in Cook County, Illinois to Anna Mae Alexander and Clarence Alexander. From an early age, it was evident that she possessed a remarkable spirit and a passion for helping others. She embarked on her journey through life with an unwavering determination and an infectious zest for living.

Throughout her life, Joyce touched the lives of countless individuals through her work as a Unit Clerk at Community Memorial Hospital, in the Cancer Care Center. She dedicated her career to helping and supporting those stricken with Cancer, earning her reputation as caring and knowledgeable individual. Her colleagues and peers respected her not only for her expertise but also for her kindness, integrity, and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend. She cherished the many special moments spent with her loved ones and was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.

Joyce will be remembered for her many hobbies (sewing, soap making, clogging, playing the spoons and wash board) being a confidant (what happens in the Mustang, stays in the Mustang) maker of comfort food, Giver of advice, built in baby sitter and many other things too numerous to mention. She will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her passing, Joyce leaves behind a legacy of servitude. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Schmoldt, her children Heidi/Gator, Bruce/Jackie, Kurt/Lina, and Bethanie/Steve. Grandchildren, Jessi/Coutney, Brandon/Emily, Benjimen, Abby, Alex, Bailey. Great grandsons Rome and Zaxston. Proceeded in death by grandson, Zak.

A memorial service to honor the life of Joyce will be held on April 20th0 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, West Bend, WI. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to help with medical expenses.

As we mourn the loss of Joyce, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, with the Lord.
