Obituary for Karen Sue Soneson (Pierce)

Karen Sue Soneson (nee Pierce), age 78, passed away on Friday January 5th, 2024, at Froedtert of West Bend Hospital. She was born on December 8th, 1945, in Danville, Illinois to Kenneth and Margaret Pierce (nee Smith). Karen's life was a testament to love, laughter, and the profound connections she forged.

Karen's heart beat for the joy of spending time with family and friends, a sentiment reflected in her radiant spirit. As an avid sports enthusiast, she found particular delight in cheering for her beloved Brewers. Her leisure moments were enriched by music, books, and the warmth of a good Chardonnay.

Beyond her personal joys, Karen selflessly dedicated her time to volunteering at the hospital, creating a tapestry of friendships through her many years of service to the community. Her legacy is one of unwavering love and generosity, touching the lives of all fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout her beautiful life, Karen devoted her love to her beloved canine companions, who brought her immeasurable joy and companionship throughout the years. From Sadie to Gilda, Wendy, Maggie, Buster, and Tootsie, each furry friend left pawprints on her heart. Their loyalty and unconditional love added an extra layer of warmth to Karen's life.

Karen leaves behind a loving family: her sons Rob (Nicole) and Eric (Rosanne), grandchildren Luke (Austin) Haroldson, Jack and Darren Soneson, Kassandra (Ben) West, Aaron, Jennah, and Brady Soneson. She is also survived by her siblings, Bruce and Pam (Wolf), along with nieces, nephews, and a vast network of friends.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert "Fred" Soneson. Her memory will be cherished in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Karen’s wonderful Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials to the American Heart Association or the "Partners" of Froedtert West Bend Hospital, honoring Karen's legacy of compassion and caring. May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever alive in the cherished memories she leaves behind.
