Although I never saw Karl after high school, he and I were best friends for several years in those days. Every morning we’d meet before classes in the cafeteria and talk. Karl had a dry sense of humor then, but he always made me laugh. Long before the Muppets’ Swedish chef, Karl had his own Swedish impersonation that he’d do from time to time. It was always gibberish, but Karl would assure me with a straight face that he was speaking fluent Swedish. A good guy.

"moshi moshi konichiwa" is how he would answer my phone calls 😊 Not made up, but a saying I will never forget especially considering the time he spent overseas.

So sorry for your loss. Karl will be missed. I worked with Karl at Riteway and we shared the same birthdate. January 26th. So we always joked we were brother and sister from another mother. RIP brother
