Obituary for Kathleen A. "Kathy" Carlson (Auer)

Kathleen A. Carlson “Kathy” (Nee Auer), age 85, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 14, 2022. She was born on December 17, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI to John and Margaret (nee Buehner) Auer. She attended St. Michael’s Grade School and St. John’s Cathedral High School. She married the late Glenn Carlson and they celebrated 52 years together.

Kathy was employed at St. Nicholas Catholic School in Milwaukee as the lunchroom manager. She was best known for her homemade buns and monster cookies! She was also a member of the Christian Mothers and on the Literature Team, and helped with the Holiday Craft Bazaar.

She loved to garden and cook. She was active in her church, St. Eugene in Fox Point. There, she sang in the choir. Kathy was on the Boy Scout Committee for several years, which allowed her to spend valuable time with her sons. For a short while before becoming a mother, she worked as a Dental Assistant.

Kathy worked passionately at keeping her boys on the “straight and narrow.” Above all, she loved spending time with her grandsons.

She is survived by her loving son, Michael A. (Terri) Carlson; cherished grandsons, Jack, and Sam; brother John (Rose Mary) Auer; she is further survived by other relatives and many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, and son Robert.

The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 5:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend). The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 22 from 3:00 PM until 4:45 PM. Please wear Purple in honor of Kathy.
