Kathryn Lorraine Decker age 94 passed peacefully with family at the Cedar Community Cottages on January 27. Lorraine, as she had been called since childhood, lived a great portion of her life in Illinois where she and her husband Max of 58 years raised their family: Deanna McClain (Roger) of West Bend WI, Larry Decker (Carol) of Plymouth MN, and Douglas Decker of Wildwood FL. She is survived by her children, 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Lorraine and Max were committed to their faith, family and friends. They were very active in their church and accepted a mission to charter a startup church in a small Illinois town in their retirement.
Lorraine worked for 19 years in the School lunch program for the District of East Peoria Community Schools in Illinois.
It is with sadness, and great joy that she is joining her maker, that we say goodbye to this strong sweet matriarch. Lorraine will be cremated and the cremains of her and Max will be interred at the Memory Garden of Cedar Community. A memorial service is planned for the summer of 2020.
