Obituary for Kim Marie McCallum (Haase)

In the soft embrace of time's passage, Kim Marie McCallum (nee Haase), aged 63, serenely took her leave on October 3, 2023, from the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Gracing this world with her presence on January 2, 1960, she was the beloved daughter of John and Ethel (nee Wagner) Haase.

With hands that nurtured and a spirit that sang with joy, Kim immersed herself in the world of flora, crafting a haven of vibrant vegetables, blossoms, and plants that flourished under her tender touch. The heartwarming tradition of summer pickle canning, a legacy from her cherished grandmother, was a testament to Kim's devotion to family and tradition, uniting her sisters, daughter, grandkids, niece, and daughter-in-law in a ritual of love and continuity. A playful heart, Kim never missed an opportunity for a game of cribbage or sheepshead. Her soul found solace in the vast expanses of the sea, cruising with her dear husband and sharing moments of luck and laughter in their occasional gambling adventures. But above all, her heart found its truest joy in her grandchildren. Their accomplishments were her pride, and her home a sanctuary of love and ice creams, always ready to welcome their laughter and splashes on sunlit days.

The world will remember Kim through the eyes of her devoted husband of 43 years, Jeffrey; her cherished children, Michael (Rachel) McCallum and Nichole Kichura (Dustin Dobernig); her precious grandchildren, Madison, Makayla, Grace, Connor, Scarlett, and soon to be born Bennett; and her kin, Keri Hansen and Tracy (David) Nowacki. In-laws Patricia (Dan) Price, Brian (Nora) McCallum, and Linda (Wilber) Huebner also held a special place in her life. Kim's legacy is further embraced by nieces, nephews, other dear relatives, and friends.

While we mourn her departure, we take solace in knowing that she is now in the gentle embrace of her parents.
