Leah Marcell Reed

(nee Christian)

Passed at her home with family by her side on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the age of 47. She was born in Laurel, MS. Leah was a Northeast Jones High School student, class of 1995, and received her master’s degree at William Carey University, class of 2003. She married Jeffrey P. Reed on August 2, 2008, in Tybee Island, GA. Leah was preceded in death by her first husband Brian Freeman, who was killed in the line of duty on November 7, 2005. Leah was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America and a Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Laurel MS. Most of all she was a soccer mom, Boy Scouts of America mom and loving and devoted mom to son Hawk, who meant the world to her. Spending time with family and friends was second best. Leah was an active volunteer as area director for Connecticut and Massachusetts The DoeNetWork.


Leah is survived by her husband Jeff P. Reed of 15 years; their son Hawk Reed; parents Ronald and Linda Christian; brother Chad Christian; sisters-in-law Anna Katherine Pickett Christian, and Lisa Freeman Nichols; nieces Abbi Christian, Abbie Grace Christian; nephews Gabe Wheat-Christian, Spencer Christian, and her pet Radar. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents M.L. “Jimmy” and Faye McBride Jimison; paternal grandparents William H. “Bill” and Blache Myrick Christian; aunt Candy Brewer, and uncles Larry Brewer, and Wendell McCraw.

A private burial will take place in West Bend, WI. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 11:00AM at Mount Vernon Methodist Church in Laurel, MS.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Leah’s name to Gary Sinise Foundation Snowball Express, would be appreciated.


The family would like to thank all her family and friends for the care and support they gave to Leah, Jeff, and Hawk during this past year.
