Obituary for Maria R. Foshey (Romero)
Maria R. Foshey (nee Romero), age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at The Pavilion in Slinger. She was born on February 26, 1938 in El Paso, TX to Manuel and Santos Romero. During her entire life, Maria was dedicated to her Catholic religion, volunteering at different churches and teaching religious education. She enjoyed being a part of the Red Hatters. She started a Rosary group at the Serenity Villa in Slinger.
Maria is survived by her 6 children, Susan Zinda, Sandra (Dan) Meinzer, Robert (Annette), David (Christy), Jon (Mayna), Jeffrey (Susie); 16 grandchildren, Christopher (Becky) Zinda, Kari (Rudy) Wilson, Benjamin (Becka) Zinda, Haley Byrne, Jennifer (Jose) Lopez, Jamie, Joshua and Megan Foshey, Michael and Jess Lewis, Clay (Nikki) Burlingame, Beau (Jeanette) Burlingame, Jacob (Josie) Foshey, Zach Foshey, Tyler and Jacob Nape;19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; siblings Danny (Pat) Romero, Freddy (Lupita) Romero, Lupe Torres, Connie Pinto, Anna (Frank) Amor. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Maria is preceded in death by her loving husband James, her parents, her parents-in-law Leo (Elsie) Foshey, siblings Gloria, Jesse, Francis and Manny.
A Public Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 6:00PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 E. Washington St. Slinger, WI 53086). Private Family Interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring Street Union Grove, WI 53181).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) (jdrf.org).
