Obituary for Maxine E. Wagner (Schirmacher)

Maxine E. Wagner, Oshkosh, WI

Maxine E. Wagner, 72, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Froedtert Hospice in West Bend, after a lingering illness. She was born on March 28, 1950, in Chippewa Falls, daughter of Clarence and Evelyn (Morey) Schirmacher. She attended Oshkosh West High School.

She was united in marriage with Tim Wagner in August 1969. They made their home in Oshkosh their entire life where they raised two children, Troy Wagner of Phoenix, and Stephanie Krebs of Kewaskum. Stephanie and her husband Scott Krebs blessed her with one grandchild, Anthony Krebs, whom she adored.

Maxine was employed at Hoffmaster’s in Oshkosh for many years. Following her retirement, she and her husband loved to spend their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona, accompanied by their dogs. They were able to do that for many years up until her health deteriorated in 2022, which then resulted in enduring one last harsh winter in Wisconsin.

She is survived by her husband Tim, their children Troy and Stephanie, son-in-law Scott Krebs, and their grandson Anthony; three brothers, Richard (Judy) Schirmacher of Eau Claire, Bernard (Ruth) Schirmacher of Salt Lake City, and Morey (Janet) Schirmacher of Chippewa Falls; two sisters, Beverly Schirmacher and Donna Munyan of Appleton; one brother-in-law Frank Weisenbeck of Eau Claire, numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Glenn and Ralph, one sister Nancy Weisenbeck, a brother-in-law Charlie Munyan, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

In respect of the deceased wishes, there will be no viewing, visitation, or funeral. A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Arrangements have been handled by Phillip Funeral Home in West Bend.
