Pauline Shimek, 79 of West Bend, and formerly of Menomonee Falls, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Born in 1939 in London, England. Daughter of Henry and Daisy (Brooker) Sharp. Lived through the Blitz, and graduated from Picardy Secondary School in Belvedere, Kent. Pauline met her Air Force husband Buster Scott in Trafalgar Square when he floated a rose across the fountain to her. Immigrated to America, where she married Buster and proudly raised her four boisterous and active boys. Pauline was the loving wife of Buster for 60 remarkable and wonderful years. In her final years, Pauline was cared for by Buster with love and dedication. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters-in-law John (Jill) and Peter (Maureen), and other relatives, as well as her beloved dog Laska. Survived by Buster, twin sister Peggy Sharp (Tom) of Milwaukee, older sister Edna Jones (Rose Cottage, Orpington, England), sister-in-law Barbara O'Mara (Northborough, MA), her sons and their wives, Gary (Mary), Martin (Lori), Kyle (Linda), Kevin (Mary), as well as grandchildren Andrea (Jerry), Brandon (Sarah), Brittany (Theo), Jennifer (Edward), Mallory, Patrick Elliot, Patrick, Mikel, Ryan, Tyler, and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Emmanuel, Christian, Ryley, Hadleigh, Elizabeth, and Lauren, in addition to nephews, nieces, cousins, and other beloved relations and friends in the States and around the world. Pauline was an extraordinary Scrabble player, superb knitter, a wonderful gardener, and a British baker long before the hit PBS series. She loved crossword puzzles, mystery novels, a good cup of tea, and her family. An active member for many years of the First Unitiarian Society of Milwaukee, Pauline became a U.S. Citizen in order to vote, but always retained her admiration of the Queen. "Love, sweetness, goodness in her person shined, so clear as in no face with more delight." The family thanks the caregivers from Horizon Home Care & Hospice and New Perspective Senior Living for their compassionate care of Pauline. If desired, memorials to the Alzheimer's Association (620 S. 76TH St., Suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214-1599) are appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
