Obituary for Randall Joseph Hansen

West Bend resident Randall Joseph Hansen passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born in Saukville, WI on March 3, 1950 to parents Jack and Doris. When Randall was 4 years old, the family moved to Hubertus where they owned and operated a tavern and a small grocery store. He and his brothers oversaw an expansion of the family business that resulted in several Piggly Wiggly grocery stores across Washington and Ozaukee counties.

In retirement, Randall made West Bend his primary residence and embarked on a new adventure in Peoria, AZ, where he embraced the warmth of the desert sun and cultivated a vibrant community of friends. His time in Arizona was characterized by laughter, camaraderie, and golf, as he forged lasting connections and cherished memories in the desert landscape.

Throughout his life, Randall's charismatic spirit and warm smile endeared him to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. He approached life with a competitive spirit, whether it was in business, on the softball field, the bowling alley, or the golf course. He found joy in serving his community as a dedicated board member at the Kettle Moraine YMCA and the West Bend Country Club. Throughout his journey, Randall was deeply grateful for the love and support of his family and friends, whose presence enriched his life in countless ways.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Lynette, his three children (with Susan Chapman) Dustin Hansen (Danielle), Kyle Hansen, and Lindsey Meier (Justin), his stepdaughter Ali Abel (Justin), his sister Mary Hansen-Turnpaugh, his brothers Jeff (Sherie), Rodney (Amber), and Jody (Amy). Randy’s final years were graced with grandchildren who meant the world to him. Brekyn, Dashiell, Sullivan, and Harleigh will truly miss their Papa!

A Memorial Service will be at 6:30pm on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the Philip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Deacon Mike Koebel presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, April 26th from 3:30pm until 6:15pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Kettle Moraine YMCA (1111 W Washington St. West Bend, WI 53095) and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (childrenswi.org).
