Obituary for Randall R. "Randy" Moericke

Print
Randall Robert Moericke, 49 of West Bend found peace on November 9th, 2018

Randy will always be remembered for his laugh and quick wit. He found friends with everyone he met. Randy was an avid outdoorsmen. He loved to kayak, hunt and fish with his family and friends. In his early years he loved to make model cars and trucks, which grew into what can only be called an obsession. He took art classes and in a nationwide contest took 2nd place just missing out on an art scholarship. His appreciation for art grew into his love of photography. He took more classes to fine tune this art, which he also mastered. He was profoundly proud of his family’s generations of service to Country. And he also loved working on his beloved Mustang.

He moved from job to job trying to find a perfect fit for his desire of making things. He would go back and forth between driving dump truck and carpentry but loved doing both. He found a forever home for his OCD for perfection working as a Master Carpenter at Willard Geidel and Son Inc.

His heart could not contain all the love he felt for others, and those he cherished. He stayed in contact with many people and had just recently joined the rest of civilization by joining Facebook and was reconnecting with old friends. He never forgot about those that passed before him, and kept many reminders of those he loved.

Randy leaves behind many loved ones including his father Roland and mother Katherine (Thompson), siblings: Dennis (Boni), Russ (Nancy), Victor, Susanna, Beth (Dale), Rod, Chris (Kristina), and Jason (and rest of the Waier clan). He is further survived by nieces and nephews: Kenneth, Samantha, Stephanie, Chris, Jeff, Ben, Chloe, Cory, Mathew, Noah, Andrew, Chad, Josh, Dakota, Christa, Nicole, Nancy, Lisa, Amanda and numerous other cousins and aunts and uncles including Elmer (Butch). He also leaves behind the daughter he cherished more than she will ever know, Rachel.

He is preceded in death by Babette (Ma Bobbie) Erickson, and brother Mark Moericke.

A Celebration of Life will be held for both Mark and Randy at The Columbian (3245 Lighthouse Ln, West Bend, WI 53090) on January 19th 2019 from 2-6 pm. If you knew Randy or Mark you know they were always ready to share a story, so we hope you can come and share your love for them with us and tell their stories. There will be no formal service as Randy requested, so dress is casual, and the mood lighthearted and filled with love.
