Obituary for Raymond Edward Martens Jr.

Raymond E. Martens Jr. “Ray” joined his beloved parents in heaven on April 5, 2019. He was born on April 3, 1948 in Aurora, Illinois, moved later with his family to Pardeeville, Wisconsin to help on his father’s dairy farm, graduated from Pardeeville High School and the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point, and subsequently taught for many years for the Kewaskum School District. He dedicated his life to the service of others as industrious teacher, excellent son, beloved brother and true friend. His love for his parents whom he guided through their later years, was unfailing and steadfast. His affection for his brother and sister was open and remarkable. His generosity toward those in need was abundant.

Ray is mourned by his sister Patricia (Patrick) Deany, nephews, Nathan and Vincent, and his many friends and colleagues, notably Curtis Casetta, Dan Schroeder and Nick Casati. Ray was preceded in death by his older brother, William L. Martens, and his parents Raymond E. and Catherine Martens.

I think he will be remembered for his sense of humor, his enthusiasm for books, film and current events, his affection for his friends and family, his true devotion to the Church. Goodbye excellent son, brother and friend. May you find peace, laughter and joyous reunion in the eternal light.
