Richard Joseph Lebakken, age 76, of Hartford Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.  He struggled with various health issues for the past 5 years and is now at peace.

He was born on May 2nd, 1947, in Milwaukee Wi to Anton and Dorothy (Schwab) Lebakken.  He graduated from Custer High School and entered the trades for Masonry.  He is survived by his wife, five children, 8 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.  Richard was known for his sense of humor and his love for family get-togethers and big Holiday celebrations.  He had a big heart and took many business risks to provide for his family.  Richard was an entrepreneur, owning his own masonry business for much of his life.  He was a master Skillman of this trade and was very proud of his accomplishments both big and small which included unique fireplaces, standard patio design, and large commercial construction projects.  Some of his pastime enjoyments included a love for reading, music, old western films, fishing, and horseback riding.  His hero was John Wayne, and you could count on him to recite many of his hero's phrases while collecting various John Wayne memorabilia...

Richard is survived by his wife of 33 years Nicolette Sue (Krahn) Lebakken, children Brian Schmitt (Jackie), Joseph Lebakken, Jennifer Witzel (Brian), Jessica Meyer, Danielle Compton (Nick), Grandchildren Ryan and Jacob Schmitt, Kayla and Kodi Meyer, Trent Schmitt, Summer, Logan, and Skylar Witzel, Great Grandchildren Landon and Presley Meyer, brother Tom and sister n law Janice Lebakken, sister n law Lillian Lebakken and many beloved nephews and nieces.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Anton and Dorothy (Schwab) Lebakken, Sisters Mary and Joan, brother Gerald, Stepson Craig Schmitt, and grandson Brendan Schmitt.

A visitation for Richard will be on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00am to 12:45pm, with a Memorial Service at 1:00pm at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095)
