Obituary for Richard Charles Tennies
Richard C. Tennies
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the age of 83. He was born in Hartford, WI, the son of the late Alfred and Verabelle (nee Goetz) Tennies.
Richard graduated from Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan, WI. He later moved to California and started his own carpentry business. Richard was an avid fisherman, golfer, and traveled to many tournaments with his friends. He moved back home to Big Cedar Lake, West Bend, WI after he retired. He continued to fish, golf, and watch sports on TV (especially the Packers) and the cooking show. He called himself “Chef Richard”.
Richard is survived by his sister Karen (Frank) (nee Tennies) Wirkus; nephew Jamie Tennies; niece Jennifer Verville; great- nephew Gregory Nigbor; great- nieces Hope (Nick) Prokopowicz, and Taylore (Nate) Christenson. He is further survived by other relatives, and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Robert Tennies.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Jamie Tennies, for helping and being there for his uncle.
Also thank you to Jill Geidel and Staff at Vista Pointe Assisted Living and Horizon Hospice Care, for the compassionate care they showed Richard.
