Obituary for Richard Daniel Zurn
Richard D. Zurn, age 70 years, passed away Saturday August 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Milwaukee to Robert and Mildred ( Pederson) Zurn. Richard graduated from Slinger High School Class of “66”. On June 22, 1968, he married Karen Kay Porath at Holy Hill. His profession was a self employed floor installer.
Richard’s hobbies were bow hunting, fishing, loved NASCAR, gardening, making soup, spending time with family especially his two great-granddaughters. He was always there to help anyone who needed it.
Richard is survived by his wife Karen, children Christine Roy and Steven Zurn, grandchildren; Derek (Heather) Zurn, Trey Roy, Brandon Roy, Colton Roy, great-grandchildren Kaylee and Madilyn Zurn, sister Judy Genthe, brothers; Gary (Debra), Bob, Jeff, Jim, and Tom (Lisa) Zurn and his sister Sue Darmondy. He was also survived by his brother-law Robert (Julie) Porath, sisters-in-law Judy (Dave) Kuczynski and Nancy (Fred) Lohn, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother David Zurn, in-laws Ben and Norma Porath and brother-in-law James Porath.
A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at 6:00pm on Friday September 6th at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00pm until time of service.
Memorials to the Spina Bifida Foundation are appreciated.
