Obituary for Ronald Anthony Pedderson

Ronald A. Pedderson passed to eternal peace on March 13, 2024; he was 84 years old.  Born and raised in Rockford, IL, the son of the late Catherine and Clifford Pedderson.  After graduating from Rockford West High School, he attended the University of Michigan Law School and the University of Arizona, where he earned B.A. degrees in English and psychology and a master’s degree in political science.  He was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha political science honorary and Delta Tau Delta social fraternity.  After Arizona, he was a political writer and columnist for the St. Petersburg, FL Times, then joined the marketing department of the Johnson Outboards division of the Johnson Outboard Marine Corporation, where he rose to Marketing Communications Manager.  While there he wrote and co-produced three television network entertainment specials featuring talent such as Bob Newhart, Pat Paulsen, Ed McMahon and Michelle Lee. He also wrote and produced several non-theatrical films that won national and international film contest awards. After OMC he moved to Milwaukee where he helped found two advertising agencies specializing in recreational marine and commercial finance accounts.  Due to failing eyesight he retired in 2002.  He was an avid golfer and enthusiastic Lake Michigan Angler.  His prize catch was a 36-pound chinook salmon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; children Jeffrey (Roxanne Mendez) Pedderson, Susan (Todd) Meye, Stephanie (Rachel Wright) Stuebs, and Joshua (Sherri) Pedderson; special friend, Karen Pedderson; many friends and associates.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Badger Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (912 N Hawley Rd. Milwaukee, WI 53213).   A Celebration of Life will be on a later date.
