Obituary for Susan "Sue" Marie Berner (Mather)
Susan Marie Berner (nee Mather), passed away peacefully with loving family by her side on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born on February 23, 1947 to the late Joseph and Sylvia Mather. Sue was a devoted wife to Lee for 58 years, and they were blessed with four children and three grandchildren.
She enjoyed road trips – no matter how short or long – where she could take in all the beautiful scenery and wildlife that surrounded her. She liked to attend shows and musicals at various theaters. Sue loved to get together with her family to cheer on the Green Bay Packers, or to celebrate any special birthday or milestone.
Spoiling her family was her priority in life. She was always there for her children and grandchildren, even when they least expected it. Her unwavering support and love was felt by all. She will most certainly be remembered for her generous and kind nature.
Sue is survived by her husband Lee; children, Tim, Dan, Kelley Panten, and Kirk (Jaspreet Mann); grandchildren, Julia (Tom Endries) Panten, Adam Panten, and George Berner; sister, Patricia Wikel; sisters-in-law Jackie and Pattie Mather; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert “Bob” Mather, William “Bill” Mather, and Michael (Frank) Mather; brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Wikel; and nephew, Charlie Mather.
The Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 11 at 2:00 PM at the Phillip Funeral Home (1420 W Paradise Drive, West Bend). The Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, February 11 from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM.
