Thomas “Tom” L. Johnson, age 65 of Slinger, Wisconsin passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2023 peacefully at his home with his loving wife Judy by his side. Tom was born January 11, 1958 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin the son of Natalie (Mlodzik) and William Johnson.

Tom and Judy had 25 wonderful years together, traveling to Hawaii 14 times, Key West, NASCAR races, Las Vegas and many road trips. Tom's racing career spanned from the 70s thru the 2000s. He raced on most tracks in southeastern Wisconsin and a couple in upper Michigan. Traveling up and down the road in the signature Chevy Suburban with tools in the back and a small car trailer in tow. He was a great competitor everywhere he went and was considered one of the smoothest racers of his time. Tom ended his racing career pulling his super winged modified behind sweet pea to the dirt track in Plymouth.

Tom is survived by his wife, Judy, three children, Tracy (Rich), Jason (Mel), Brian (Johnna), two stepchildren, Shane (Laurie), Lisa (Mike), seven grandchildren, Jordan, Jaxson, Hayden, Miley, Nikolynn, Zoe, Wyatt, five step grandchildren, Kyle, Chelsea (Jarret), Paige, Carson, Christian, one step great grandson, Bentley, sister, Julie, Brothers-in-law, Gary (Marion) and Bruce (Cheryl), sisters-in-law, Diane and Linda (Daryl) and many friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, William Schwartz, mother-in-law, Janet and brother-in-law, Al.

A memorial gathering for Tom will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 4-6pm at Phillip Funeral Home, with a time of sharing starting at 6:00 pm.
