Obituary for Warren Paul Ribecky

Warren Paul Ribecky

Passed away unexpectedly on April 5, 2022 at home in West Bend, WI.

Warren is survived by his loving wife Barbara; dear stepdad to Robert (Rose) Keane, Shelby (Doug) Holste and Lynn (James) Flom. Special grandpa (“Pop”) to Lauren, Danny (Ashley), Jamie (Tracy), Taylor (Michael), Tommy, Jill and Reese. Adoring great grandpa to Evan, Lily and Sean, and dear brother-in-law of Martha Bruce.

Warren was very involved with the AFS program in East Troy, WI for many years and has kept a loving relationship with his AFS kids and their families all of whom have been a special part of his life for more than 25 years: Mikael (Karin) Ludwigs in Sweden, Uli (Katrin) Sieberer in Germany and Keimo (Suvi) Laakso in Finland. Also his AFS grandkids Lisa, Simon, Jan, Marian, Jonathan, Henri and Riku. Further survived by other relatives and many special friends.

Warren was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 4, 1943 and grew up in Brookfield, WI. His love of the water led him to Lake Beulah in East Troy, WI where he resided for more than 25 years. After retiring from real estate in 2018, his happy place became the kitchen where he loved creating and preparing new dishes. He always looked forward to get-togethers with the kids, school programs and Little League games with the grandkids and great grandkids. Warren had a passion for sheepshead since his childhood and always enjoyed getting together anytime with friends for a sheepshead game. Warren and Barbara enjoyed traveling, and fond memories were made during many trips to Maui, cruises to Alaska, Key West and the Caribbean and to Europe to visit his AFS kids and their families. Frequent trips to North Carolina and Florida to visit family were something Warren always looked forward to.

Warren was so loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed for his bigger than life personality and generous heart.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Janet Ribecky, grandson Bobby Keane, mother-in-law Barbara Boyce, brother-in-law William Robert “Bob” Bruce, his first wife Barbara Simpson Ribecky and other members of the Simpson family in TN.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Warren will be held at a later date.
