Obituary for William G. "Billy" McCluskey
William George McCluskey, Jr., age 71
Went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Billy was born December 14, 1951 in Milwaukee to William and Shirley McCluskey (nee Schulz). Billy owned and operated Landmark Painting in Milwaukee for over 20 years. He then managed investment properties with his brother, Michael McCluskey.
Bill enjoyed the shooting sports, serving as board member, instructor and youth pistol team coach at the Hartford Conservation and Gun Club in Hartford. He was an avid traveler spending time in Southeast Asia, Central America and Brazil with his cousins, Jon Thomas, Larry and Ana Mott. He also enjoyed bicycling and hiking trips in the U.S., Europe, South Africa and Australia with his wife, Mary McCluskey. He came to Christian faith through bible study and church membership at Northbrook Church, Richfield.
Bill is survived by his cherished wife of 30 years, Mary McCluskey (nee Messler), his beloved brother Michael McCluskey (Diana), aunt Gloria Mott King, cousins Laura (Bill) Bougie; Larry (Ana) Mott, Ronald (Mary) Mott, Russell (Suzy) Mott, Deborah (Bob) Harris, Jon (Dia) Thomas and Stephanie Tranter.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, cousin Cynthia Mott, stepmother E. Jean McCluskey and his other aunts and uncles.
Visitation at Phillip Funeral Homes and Paradise Cremation Services, 1420 W Paradise Dr, West Bend, WI, Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 10:00a.m. to 11:45am, service immediately following at 12:00pm. A luncheon will follow at the Hartford Conservation and Gun Club, 6000 WI-60 Trunk, Hartford, WI 53027.
