Obituary for Eleanore C "Goaly" Engel
Eleanore C. Engel (nee Glander) was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, Clarence Engel, on Saturday May 12, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Eleanore was born to Charles and Emma Glander in 1922 and was raised in Milwaukee. She spent most of her time working on the family farm. During WWII, she worked at Badger Meter MFG. Company. On May 22, 1943 she received The Army-Navy Production Award and an Army E Navy pin from President Franklin Roosevelt for outstanding achievement in producing materials needed for war. On November 18, 1944, she married Clarence Engel and over the years they had 8 children. Family meant everything to her so she spent most of her days happily raising her family. She had a strong faith in God which helped carry her through each day.
Eleanore is survived by her brother Bernard (the late Marilyn) Glander, son Larry (Maureen) Engel, daughter Charlene (Theadore) Lind, daughter Christine (Harvey) Koerner, son Daniel Engel, daughter Kathleen (Lee) Carter and son David (Sandra) Engel. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Lisa Marie, Clary Jr., Timothy (the late Maelyn), Buck, Terry, Jesse, Travis, Melissa (Evan), Amanda, Randy, and Crystal (Antonio), her great-grandchildren; Kody, Kolton, Kammeren, Kaela, Brighton, Quintin, Summer, Klyde, Kaylie, Aleyah, Ava, Shaniya, Iyanna, and Antonio Jr, her great-great grandson Zander, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, brothers; Ervin (Janet), Charles (Charlotte), William, Edward, Walter (Doris), son Clary, daughter Emma and granddaughter Susan.
A Funeral Service for Eleanore will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday May 17th at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend). Visitation will be held on Thursday May 17th from 4:00pm until time of service. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery Milwaukee.
The family would like to thank Kathy, Lee, Melissa and David for all the care they gave to Eleanore.
