Obituary for Barbara Mae "Barb" Horak (Lustig)

Barbara M. Horak (nee Lustig), 83, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1930 in Milwaukee to the late Frank and Mamie (nee Fischer) Lustig. She graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee. She married John Horak on June 30, 1951 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She volunteered regularly at the Hartford Health Care Center for over 25 years, and was a longtime member of the Christian Mothers of St. Peter’s Catholic Parish in Slinger.

Barbara was a devoted mother to her children, Bob Horak, Joan (Scott, Sr.) Toro, Judy Berg, Bill Horak, Becky (Todd) Scoles; grandchildren, Scott Jr. (Jaimie) Toro, Angela Toro, Dan (Karrie) Berg, Ryan Horak, Curtis Hinca, Tim, Tom, and Tammy Horak, Courtney and Keegan Scoles; two great-grandchildren, Scott III and Breanna; sisters, Carol Greenleaf from Phoenix, AZ, and Alyce Stangel from Jacksonville, FL. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John and brother, Don Lustig.

The visitation will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Church (200 E Washington St, Slinger, WI 53095) on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 11:45 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 27th at 12:00 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. A private interment will take place at (new) St. Peter’s Cemetery.
