Obituary for Raymond D. Smithana

Raymond D.  Smithana
Raymond D. Smithana, age 87, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in West bend, surrounded by family. He was born on July 15, 1930 to Walter and Rose (nee Bertling) Smithana. Raymond was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and earned 3 Bronze Service Stars and later was a member of the West Bend VFW Post #1393. He was a devoted husband to the late Sandra (nee Moeser). He loved his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and his dog Itsy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, the casino, slot machines and playing cards

Raymond is survived by his children, Rose Lochowicz, Raymond Smithana Jr., Renee (Tom) Ferguson and Ruth (Ken) Henk; son-in-law, Mike Rutzen; grandchildren, Heather (Kyle) Becker, Andrew (Angie) Rutzen, Christina (Robert) Stoll, Sarah (Mike) Alexander, David Rutzen, Stephanie, Kyle and Holly Henk; 7 great-grandchildren and brother Delos King. He is further survived nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Raymond is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra, his parents and 8 siblings.

A Funeral Service for Raymond will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at New Hope United Church of Christ (4360 Jackson Dr. Jackson, WI 53037) with Rev. James Hill Presiding. Visitation will be at church Friday, March 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 10:15 AM. Interment will at 2:00 PM at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring St. Union Grove, WI 53182-9707).
