Obituary for Michael Adam Kopp

Michael Adam Kopp
Michael Adam Kopp, age 21, of West Bend, was called home to be with our Lord on the morning of March 27th, 2018.

He was born on November 4th, 1996, to Dale "Sonny" and Jill Kopp. From the time he could crawl to the day he passed, he was passionate about anything with a engine or motor. After graduating from Slinger High School in 2015, he started an apprenticeship with Johnson Controls, following in the footsteps of his dad and older brother, Brad. He had an endless list of hobbies, including working on his many cars, motorcycles, boats, and RC cars. He loved and adored his dog, Diesel.

On April 5th, 2017, Michael was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, beginning his battle with cancer. He courageously fought long and hard, never shying away from any obstacles thrown his way. On December 15th, 2017, he received a stem cell transplant from his brother, Brad, hoping to give him a second chance at life. Our hearts ache to know that God had a different plan for Michael, but we rejoice in knowing that we will be with him again someday.

His friends would describe him as someone who was sincere, humble, brave, reliable, and always willing to go the extra mile for anyone, at any time.

On Earth, Michael is survived by his loving mother, Jill, and father, Dale "Sonny", his sister, Kayla (Cameron) Schaller, his brother, Bradley Kopp, his Fiancé, Samantha Strupp, grandparents Sharon (Ronald) Bollhoffer, Beverly (William) Beaudot, and Robert (Jackie) Maslowski, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Northbrook Church in Richfield on Saturday, March 31st, 2018, at 11:00am in the chapel. All friends and family of Michael are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate any donations to EVENTS.LLS.ORG (2018 Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour) for “Team Kopp”, in memory and honor of Michael.

Lastly, we would like to thank his team of nurses, doctors, physical therapists, and coordinators from Aurora St. Luke’s, University of Illinois Chicago Hospital, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, and
Horizon Hospice, who fought alongside Michael during his battle. We would like to especially thank Dr. Laura Michaelis for her relentless compassion and devotion in caring for Michael
