Obituary for Dorothy May Seramur (Wegner)

Dorothy May Seramur (nee Wegner) of West Bend, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the age of 92.

Dorothy was born on April 25, 1925 in Milwaukee to Ernest and Grace (nee Sherman) Wegner. She married the late Richard E. Seramur on October 15, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA. The couple lived in Milwaukee until 1969, when she and her family moved to the West Bend area. Dorothy was often referred to as a “saint.” If a saint is defined by an ability to work miracles, then Dorothy qualifies. She bore and raised 12 children under extremely difficult conditions, and she could assemble winning Cribbage hands up to the last few weeks of her life. She was truly a remarkable woman who will be dearly missed. Dorothy was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Church.

Dorothy is survived by her 12 children: Richard Seramur (and Cheryl) of West Bend, Catherine of Seattle, WA, Doreen Craker-Carrick (and Greg Carrick) of Iola, WI, Cynthia Seramur (and Charlie Raines) of Seattle, Mark Seramur of Michigan, Scott Seramur (and Sue Moser) of Seattle, Keith Seramur of Hawkins, WI, Margaret Vincent (and Joseph) of Auburn, WA, Robert Seramur of Barton, Christopher Seramur of Milwaukee, Thomas Seramur of West Bend and Jayne Seramur of West Bend. She is further survived by 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband for almost 40 years Richard “Dick”, who died on March 11, 1983; her four siblings- Ernest “Jim”, Priscilla, Patricia, and Frederick; and a granddaughter JulieAnn and grandson Nathan.

A Private Gathering will be held in 2018. The family requests that memorials be sent to The Threshold of West Bend (http://thresholdinc.org) or St. Vincent de Paul of Washington County (http://www.svdpwc.com/)
