Obituary for Gerald "Jerry" Zitzelberger

Gerald “Jerry” Zitzelberger was called home on Thursday, October 26th, 2017 at the age of 89 years surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was an outstanding father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jerry was born on April 1st, 1928 in Milwaukee to Benno and Marquerite (nee Raminger) Zitzelberger. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee in 1946. Jerry is an Army veteran and served during WWII. He began his career as a lithographer at Mueller Color Plate in Milwaukee.
Jerry’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed outdoor activities, such as walking, bike riding, and tennis, as well as casino trips, and solving Sudoku puzzles.
He is survived by his children: Karen (Robert) Fehrmann, John Zitzelberger, Chris (John) Groth; grandchildren: Nickolas and Jessica Fehrmann, Justin (Heidi) Groth, Stacy (Phil) Summers, Rachel (Zachery) Cass; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Emily, Sarah, Andrea, Audriana, Melanie and Vaughan; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Bernice “Pat”, his parents, and brothers Thomas and James.
A Funeral Service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Deacon Mark Jansen presiding. Visitation at the funeral home Saturday, October 28th from10:00 AM until the time of service (12:00 PM). Interment to follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Wisconsin Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association (620 S. 76th St. Suite 160 Milwaukee, WI 53214-1599).
