Obituary for James William "Jim" Banovich

James William "Jim"  Banovich
James “Jim” W. Banovich, age 79, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Aurora St. Luke’s in Milwaukee. He was born on August 23, 1938 in Milwaukee, to Joseph and Lorraine (nee Huber) Banovich. Jim was huge into sports as a child, particularly baseball and that continued all his life. He enjoyed music and playing the accordion. In 1956 Jim started working at Marsh Electronics at age 17, started behind the counter to many different capacities to owning the company in the early 90’s. He served on several boards and was highly respected in this industry; he loved his Marsh Family.

He was married for 60 years to his beautiful wife Jackie (nee Carr) Banovich and together they raised 5 children. They loved enjoying their time in the Upper Peninsula, Arizona and Las Vegas-they “loved Caesar and Caesar loved them!” He loved baseball (the Brewers), Packers, fishing, hunting, golfing, movies, slot machines and much more. He had a great sense of humor and a generous heart. Jim lived a wonderful and full life!

Jim is survived by his wife Jackie; children, James (Sandra), Patricia (Doug) Delashmutt; Kathryn (Kenneth) Gassner, Stefan (Brenda), Amy (Jim) Tiernan; grandchildren, Andrew (Julie), Christopher, Allyson and Kaitlyn Banovich, James Siegel and Joseph Delashmutt, Angela (Daniel) Piel, Meghan (Fiancé Jesse Menges) Schuster, Brionna and Jonathan James “JJ” Banovich; 6 great-grandchildren; granddog Ollie Tiernan and he is also survived by his sister, Susan Oxendorf. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Earl and Helen Carr and brother-in-law Kenneth Oxendorf.

A first visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) from 4:00PM until 6:00PM. A second visitation will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 9:00AM until 9:45AM at St. Peter Catholic Church (200 E. Washington St. Slinger, WI 53086). Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Stoffel presiding. Entombment will follow at Washington County Memorial Park.
